Catastrophes
2001-2015

My "Catastrophes" series derives from an earlier series, "Direct Objects," whose images were created by placing objects directly on the platen of a flatbed scanner. While these objects were presented at actual scale in the earlier series, in "Catastrophes" they are greatly enlarged, giving them a heightened presence.

The catastrophes represented by the series include global warming, environmental degradation, terrorism, and addictive technologies, among others.

The prints are large (up to 42x54 inches) and have been exhibited both in framed and unframed scroll-style versions.
